Their mission is to help millions of people with walking disorders due to stroke, multiple sclerosis, or paraplegia to overcome their daily disability by becoming more autonomous and independent in their movements.
The need
After creating a mobile app MVP, Reev needed a mobile development expert to consolidate the existing, improve it, and add new features, all while publishing the mobile app on the stores. They therefore called on me for this job, and I had the pleasure of working at Reev for over 10 months as a freelancer.
My work
During this freelance mission, I worked as the sole mobile developer in the company, so it's only natural that my job was also divided between the developer's role and that of a technical advisor. Together, we overhauled part of the codebase, installed tools to reinforce the app, and constantly improved various features and their associated designs.
Feature
Graphics, curves, Bluetooth connectivity. The range of features is broad and varied. I was able to work on very interesting and enriching features.
Design
I am not a designer and do not consider having the necessary artistic flair for this job. However, that doesn't stop me from knowing a number of best practices and having spent time mastering the associated tools.
Refactor
Some work was necessary on the codebase to make it more maintainable and cleaner. I was thus able to use my knowledge and expertise to improve code quality.
Testing
Testing often takes a long time, and it's sometimes hard to find the right balance between the time needed to set up and create tests and the equally important deadlines. However, tests are always a profitable investment, and I was able to set up the necessary tools.
Debug
Being the result of an MVP, the app did not initially have all the tools that optimize debugging time. An installation and setup were therefore necessary, allowing us to have a better daily view of the app's state.
