Quercy Primeur is a fresh fruit and vegetable wholesaler in southwest France. Their clients are restaurants, caterers and retail shops. Before the platform, every order went through phone calls, email or postal mail. Quercy wanted an online tool built for their trade, not a generic Shopify.

The Solution

How things worked before the platform

When I joined, everything ran on email and phone calls. Quercy sent a custom PDF catalog to each client every week. Clients replied with their order. Mistakes happened on both sides: wrong price, wrong quantity, product no longer available. When something urgent came up (delayed delivery, stock shortage), the only option was an email and hoping the client would read it in time. No digital tools, no automation.

The Challenge

All of that had to be replaced with something reliable. Orders needed to go through an interface with real-time notifications, not an email thread. The catalog had to be online, update live and adapt to the logged-in client (prices, availability). The interface had to work for users with little computer experience. And client registration had to stay under admin control to avoid security issues.

My work

Solo developer on the project. Frontend, backend, Firestore database, Cloud Functions, emails, security rules, Vercel deployment: I handled all of it. Over just under a year, Quercy's needs shifted two or three times, each time with major feature changes to absorb. The project started from a blank create-next-app and went all the way to production.

The Challenge

Quercy was losing time processing orders by phone and had no tool adapted to his trade constraints.

My Approach

Continuous iterations over 1 year, solo. I started with the data model and auth, then shipped the catalog, cart and admin in blocks.

The Outcome

Platform in production. Quercy manages his catalog, clients and orders online. No more orders by phone or email.
